D8NYT ("D8NYT," "we," "us") is a date-planning web app for couples. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Questions? Email redfiveinfo@gmail.com.

Who can use D8NYT

D8NYT is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account or use the service. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Information we collect

We collect what you give us and what's needed to run the service:

Account details — your email, first and last name, and password (stored securely by our authentication provider; we never see it).
Profile details — gender, date of birth, an optional profile photo, and the interests and dislikes you enter.
Relationship data — your link to a partner, and the shared preferences, key dates, and hard constraints you set together.
Date activity — the dates and proposals you generate (location, timing, and any per-date instructions you write), your thumbs-up/down feedback, and the notes and photos you add as memories.
Payment information — if you subscribe, our payment processor (Stripe) collects and stores your card details. We do not store your full card number; we keep only a customer reference and your plan status.
Support and feedback — anything you send us through the in-app feedback tool or by email.
Basic technical data — standard information your browser sends (such as IP address and device/browser type) used to operate and secure the site.

How we use it

To run your account and the core features — linking partners, generating and tracking dates, and storing your memories.
To personalize date ideas. To do this we send your date parameters and relevant preferences (which can include first names and interests) to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate suggestions.
To process subscriptions and payments through Stripe.
To send transactional email — account verification and password-reset codes. We do not send marketing email.
To respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure.

How your data is shared

We do not sell your personal information. It is shared only in these ways:

With your linked partner. D8NYT is a shared experience. When you link with a partner, your name, photo, and the couple's shared preferences, dates, and memories are visible to each other. Only the person who set up a subscription can manage billing.
With service providers ("subprocessors") who operate the product on our behalf: Amazon Web Services (hosting, database, authentication, email), Anthropic (AI date suggestions), and Stripe (payments). They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the service.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Login & Security in your account settings. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and your data — your dates, memories, notes, preferences, and feedback — and cancels your subscription if you have one. If you are linked with a partner, your personal data is removed and your shared records are handled so your partner keeps theirs. Some information may be retained where required by law (for example, payment transaction records held by our payment processor, Stripe). You can also make a deletion request by emailing redfiveinfo@gmail.com.

Security

We use reputable providers and encrypt data in transit. Passwords are managed by our authentication provider and are never visible to us. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember lightweight preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your choices and rights

You can view and edit your profile and preferences in the app, and delete your account as described above. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information; to exercise them, email redfiveinfo@gmail.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We'll change the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a more prominent notice.
